ATTENTION – DON’S MISS THIS ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY.

For the final time, we have a cruise aboard The World available for auction at our “Rock Around The Clock” fundraiser.

The cruise departs from Cairns on 30th May 2014.

The cruise consists of 3 sea days to Solomon and then 11 days of expedition. The World’s website describes the cruise as follows:

In June of 2014, Residents & Guests will embark on deep exploration of Papua New Guinea & The Solomon Islands, journeying to destinations that are rarely if ever visited by other ships. The Expedition team will guide the group along the rims of volcanoes, into the dense rainforest, over coral gardens beneath the ocean’s surface, and through age-old customs and ceremonies passed down by ancestral spirits. The famous Fire Dance performed by the Baining people, guided walks by traditional “spirit houses”, and lessons on the best canoe carving techniques are just a taste of what Residents & Guests will experience in this captivating part of the globe.

The return flight is from Port Moresby on the 14th June 2014.

Go on, clear the diary, get bidding on the night, have a wonderful experience and help us raise funds in the process – everyone’s a winner!

A new Paul Harris Fellow

On Wednesday April 30 the three Southern Highlands Rotary clubs gathered at Annesley in Bowral for an Italian evening. Nicola Lindsay from the Olive Leaf Cafe catered for the evening with wonderful bowls of a creamy pasta followed by Tiramisu. There was much laughter and great spirit as the Rotarians socialised and shared stories over dinner.
DG Maureen Manning and AG Tony Glenn joined the celebrations and we had a fun ‘Jan Edwards Roast’ before presenting Jan with a Paul Harris Fellow Award in recognition of the community work she does throughout the Highlands as well as her two consecutive years as President of the Rotary Club of Berrima District.
It was recognition well deserved and DG Maureen Manning was there to do the ‘pinning’.Jan Jan2
